Global engineering services company Babcock (www.babcockinternational.com) has been awarded a new contract by the Norwegian government to provide “vital” air ambulance support for communities across Norway.

The contract will initially run for six years, with options to extend it for five more years.

It will see Babcock operate 11 specialist fixed-wing aircraft from summer 2019, giving thousands of people access to specialist health-care centres across Norway.

The leased aircraft will operate from seven bases and will be fitted out with custom-designed interiors, featuring hospital-standard equipment.
