Aerospace firm wins Safran dealPortadown-based JW Kane Precision Engineering (www.jwkane.co.uk ) has won a contract to supply Safran with large machined parts for the Airbus A330 Neo engine nacelle.

Managing director Damian McArdle says that this marks an “exciting new phase” in the growth of the business. “The investments we have made to enhance our engineering and business processes, in order to undertake aerospace machining and supply chain management activity, are now bearing fruit.”

Richard Mallinson, head of purchasing at Safran Nacelles, said: “We are excited to be working with JW Kane on this important project.

“We have been impressed with the ‘can do’ culture of the company and its ability to achieve the deadlines it has committed to.”

Alastair Hamilton, chief executive of Invest NI, said: “Invest NI works very closely with JW Kane to support its efforts to win new international business and establish its reputation within the global aerospace supply chain.

“Regularly exhibiting on the Northern Ireland stand at trade shows including the Paris Air Show, Farnborough and Aeromart Toulouse has enabled the company to showcase its capabilities and cultivate relationships with new
international customers such as Safran.”
