Telford-based Hymix Ltd — a market leader in concrete mixers (www.hymix.com) — has entered into a long-term supply agreement with GKN and is set to relocate to the latter’s Hadley Castle site.

The combination of a new building and the proximity of GKN will increase Hymix’s capacity and reduce its lead times. Founded in 1988 and currently employing 60 people, the company has a reputation for innovation, which has led to its new P2 model.

The move will create a separate workshop for the development of new designs, along with better facilities for assembling specialist machines and for servicing the after-market.

As a supplier to Hymix, GKN will operate in accordance with TS 16949 and deliver effective production control.

With its existing E-coat facilities plus a new shot-blasting system and a new powder coating facility (specific to the agreement), the result will be components with excellent corrosion-resistance and a durable finish.
