SMC Pneumatics (UK) Ltd (
www.smcpneumatics.co.uk) has added to its gripper range with the launch of the MHM-X6400, which uses a magnet to handle workpieces.
The gripper has been designed for components featuring uneven surfaces or holes, solving the issue of gaining sufficient ‘absorption’ when using a vacuum pad.
With a holding force up to 120N, the MHM-X6400 keeps hold of workpieces even when the air is shut off, says Milton Keynes-based SMC.
Suitable for a range of transfer applications, the holding force of the MHM-X6400 can be adjusted by changing the type of ‘bumper’ used.
Made from fluoro-rubber, the bumper prevents damage to the workpiece and stops it from slipping during operations.
The MHM-X6400 features three mountable surfaces and the option to fit automatic switches.
