Baldock-based Floyd Automatic Tooling has launched a new programme of gear-cutting tools from Hommel & Keller. Introduced under the HOBit brand, the range incorporates a series of disc cutters, plus bore-type and shank-type hobbing tools, along with shaper and power-skiving cutters (www.floydautomatic.co.uk).

HOBit gear-cutting and hobbing tools are manufactured to customer requirements in terms of size, geometry, tooth
angles and number of teeth, with HSS, PM (powder metal) and solid-carbide tools offered.

Moreover, these tools are available with a variety of coating technologies; these include TiN, TiCN and TiAlN, as well as the Platit coatings nACo, nACo3 and nACRo.
