Component manufacturer takes offCounty Antrim-based IPC Mouldings has invested in new machinery and a new IT system and is creating eight new jobs over the next 12 months to support further growth.

Set up in 1994, the company uses advanced engineering polymers and processing techniques to make parts primarily for the aerospace and medical sectors. It is an SC21 Silver award winner and has AS 9100 accreditation.

The company has invested £250,000 in new machinery during 2017, recently purchasing a 100-tonne injection moulding machine to facilitate a new medical-industry contract, plus a 700-tonne machine to increase its capacity and position itself for further new business. This is in addition to the recent implementation of a new MRP system.

Managing director Joanne Liddle said: “IPC is a successful and well-established performance-driven company working in highly regulated industries.

“As we continue to grow and diversify, we continue to invest — in our people, our machinery and new technology — and Invest Northern Ireland works closely with us.”

Bill Montgomery, Invest NI’s director of Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering, said: “IPC has an excellent record of export sales in the aircraft interiors market, and it contributes to Northern Ireland’s reputation for manufacturing excellence in the global aerospace sector.

“Additionally, securing new business in the medical sector will help the company in another fast-growing industry.”
