In less than five months, Germany’s Schuler AG (
www.schulergroup.com) and Evraz North America (
www.evrazna.com) have installed a spiral pipe plant in Canada that was relocated from a factory in the USA.
Schuler supplied the coil cart and decoiler, as well as all roller beams of the forming station, and upgraded the equipment with more advanced technology.
It also spent three weeks training staff to use the equipment. The line will be used to produce spiral pipes from 12 to 24.3m long with diameters from 608 to 1,625mm (plus wall thicknesses from 6 to 25.4mm).
Evraz North America is a leading producer of steel products for the rail, energy and general industrial markets.
