On 1 January 2018, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) (www.mhi.com) will establish two new wholly owned companies as part of the re-organisation of its ship-building business.

Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Co Ltd will primarily undertake the construction of ships that require ‘intensive outfitting’, while Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Marine Structure Co Ltd will mainly be involved in the manufacture of large ships and marine structures.

MHI will work closely with the two new companies, helping them to develop their business operations.
