GKN Additive launches new titanium powderGKN Hoeganaes Speciality Metal Powders — the advanced-materials division of GKN Additive (www.gkn.com) — has added AncorTi Beta 21S to its portfolio of AncorAM powders for additive manufacturing.

Beta 21S titanium (UNS R58210) is a high-strength heat-treatable metastable beta titanium alloy designed to offer improved resistance to oxidation and creep, while providing enhanced strength and stability at elevated temperatures.

These properties will allow it to be used for aerospace, medical, chemical and marine applications. Moreover, it is available in particle sizes that are optimised for Electron Beam Melting and Selective Laser Melting AM machines.

AncorAM metal powders have been engineered with alloy chemistry and powder characteristics specifically designed for additive manufacturing.

AncorTi Beta 21S joins AncorTi CP and AncorTi 6Al4V —as well as a host of nickel and ferrous based powders — in the AncorAM product range.

GKN has been a global leader in AM for decades, with aerospace components produced, certified and flying on seven ‘major platforms’.
