EBS accelerates growth plans

EBS accelerates growth plansManchester-based European Braking Systems (EBS), a manufacturer of air brake and vehicle control systems, has
secured an investment from the Business Growth Fund (BGF) to support product development and accelerate its international growth.

Through its distribution hubs in Trafford Park, London and Dublin, the company exports to more than 40 countries, including Russia, China and North America.

It generated sales of £22 million in 2017. Since it was established by chief executive Mark Luby in 2000, EBS (www.europeanbrakingsystems.co.uk) has grown organically and through a series of acquisitions.

Most recently, it acquired Brentwood-based wholesaler Drakefield, giving it greater access to London and the South East.

The BGF funding will be used to expand the EBS product range, establish a distribution centre in mainland Europe, and explore further acquisition opportunities.

Also planned for this year is a new 3,500m2 manufacturing and quality control centre at the company’s headquarters in Trafford Park.
