Cheslyn Hay-based PP Control & Automation (www.ppcanda.com) — a supplier of electrical control systems, cable harnesses and sub-contract manufacturing solutions to many of the world’s largest machinery builders — reached its 50th birthday last year and marked the occasion by securing new contracts worth £2 million.

Located in a 55,000ft² facility, the company enjoyed a surge in demand for its strategic outsourcing services, with interest coming from as far away as Iceland.

Managing director Tony Hague said: “2017 was a major year for us, not just in terms of our ‘big birthday’ but also in terms of laying the foundations for the next five decades.

"We now have a five-year plan to take our turnover from £22 million in 2017 to £40 million in 2022, and our recent £1 million factory extension gives us the additional space and the world-class logistics/materials department to help us achieve that.”
