Press-to-press transfer applications are set to become faster, smoother and more compact, thanks to the latest rack-mounted industrial robot from Coventry-based Fanuc UK Ltd (
www.fanuc.eu).
The R2000iC/100P, which can be attached to a wall or ceiling, is a space-saving alternative to traditional floor-mounted robots, making it a suitable solution for automotive (or automotive component) manufacturers with limited floor space.
A long slender arm gives the robot a reach of up to 3,540mm; it also facilitates cable routing and ‘dress out’. The R2000iC/100P has motor-fan cooling systems that allow it to perform continuous high-duty cycles with a repeatability of ±0.05mm.
In addition, the robot has a maximum axis speed of 210deg/sec for shorter SPM (standard press motion) cycles.
For production lines handling larger parts, the six-axis robot accommodates high wrist moments and inertias up to 1,000Nm and 227kgm2 respectively. The robot itself can handle a maximum load of 100kg.
As with the other models in the R2000iC series, the R2000iC/100P can incorporate Fanuc’s latest software tools, including Dual Check Safety, iRVision and Learning Vibration Control.
