Thyssen Krupp Materials Services is expanding its aerospace network by opening a facility in Morocco (near Casablanca).
Covering more than 2,000m
2, this will stock a variety of raw materials such as aluminium, steel and titanium in various forms and alloys, and a cut-to-size service will allow customers to order material in the size they require.
It is planned that the facility will open this summer. The aerospace unit of TKMS already supports many of the aerospace companies based in North Africa through its other sites, and these customers will now benefit from shorter lead times for material.
The world-wide aerospace industry is growing faster than the world economy as a whole, and Morocco is currently achieving an average annual growth of more than 15%.
Laura Holmes, CEO of Thyssen Krupp Aerospace, said: “We see a high demand for a reliable partner that offers materials and metal processing, as well as supply chain solutions, in North Africa.
“To strengthen our activities in this area and offer further customised solutions is a logical step for us.”
