Sarginsons invests in technology and training Coventry-based Sarginsons Industries (www.sarginsons.com), which has been at the forefront of aluminium die casting for over 80 years, recently put 12 members of its team through a training programme to make sure it continues to deliver the highest standards for its automotive clients.

The company counts premium car manufacturers in the UK and Europe among its customers, and it has invested heavily in machinery and technology in the past year.

To maintain a programme of continuous improvement, Sarginsons trains and upskills staff at all levels, and recently enlisted the help of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders’ (SMMT) Industry Forum to deliver a training programme for current team leaders and those with the ability to step into those roles in the future.

The training programme lasted nine months, and those involved have already had a positive impact on the business.

The course included everything from waste elimination and QCD (quality, cost and delivery) data collection and analysis through to structured problem-solving, communication and leadership.

Anthony Evans, Sarginsons managing director, said: “We are committed to continuous improvement and that is why we are investing in technology and our people.

“It is vital that our clients know that we operate to the very highest standards and that is why we enlisted the support of the SMMT’s Industry Forum to undertake this training programme.”

Sarginsons started 2018 with a new programme that includes executive lean awareness and 5S, as well as ‘visual management’ coaching and mentoring.
