LVD Co nv (www.lvdgroup.com) recently received an order from Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) — via its sales agent Itochu Machine-Technos Corp — for a custom-built 1,000-tonne Synchro-Form press brake equipped with special tooling to produce large panels for the fuselages of commercial aircraft.

Forming these parts to a required contour “is a challenging task, albeit one that will be simplified by Synchro-Form technology, which provides automatic in-process quality control when handling, positioning and bending large parts with multiple bends”.

KHI in Japan is a key partner for the production of the Boeing 777X.
