Welshpool-based Dawson Shanahan (
www.dawson-shanahan.co.uk), a specialist precision engineering company, looks set to exceed its investment targets this year.
Dawson Shanahan has invested over £500,000 annually on new machinery for the past three years, but the company is already well on its way to exceeding this in 2018.
Recent additions to its inventory include: a Citizen Cincom L32-X automatic lathe, which offers high-precision high-speed machining; and a Citizen Cincom L20-V111 LFV for the machining of components where quantities are notsufficient to warrant the use of cold forming.
The L20-V111 LFV (low-frequency vibration) also helps Dawson Shanahan overcome the swarf issues associated with machining pure copper, improving efficiency still further.
Les Reeves, Dawson Shanahan joint managing director, said: “Dawson Shanahan’s long-term investment focus has not only improved efficiency levels but has increased our service offering.
“The breadth of service that we can offer our customers as a result of this investment is second-to-none and ensures that we are well-placed to be a highly competitive precision-engineering manufacturer for many years to come.”
