Chorley-based Lyndhurst Precision Engineering (
www.lyndhurst-precision.co.uk) is to design, build and test a new prototype machine for the manufacture of automotive components.
It has been working with the Japanese customer for over 10 years.
Representatives from Japan recently spent four days in Chorley discussing the design and manufacture of the machine, as well as meeting engineers and being given a tour of the ‘state of the art’ engineering facility.
Lyndhurst specialises in customised engineering solutions, based on thorough research and development — and including reverse engineering where necessary.
The company has clients in numerous sectors, such as nuclear, aerospace and defence, automotive, renewable-energy, food and medical.
Managing director Mark Marriner said: “We’re excited to begin work on this new prestigious project, which will involve us in design, extensive research, the building of prototypes, testing and trips to Japan.
"It will allow us to use our expertise and design skills, and it will provide an excellent project for the team to work on.”
“At Lyndhurst, we work with a wealth of industry-leading clients across global sectors. It’s an exciting time for us, as we continue to grow both in the UK and internationally.”
