'Best MACH show in history' for Mills CNC Over 3,000 visitors were attracted to the stand of Leamington Spa-based Mills CNC Ltd (www.millscnc.co.uk), the exclusive distributor of Doosan machine tools in the UK and Ireland; the company also fielded hundreds of enquiries — and took orders for 20 machines.

Indeed, managing director Kevin Gilber said it was “the best MACH show in the company’s
history.”

Mills CNC exhibited 16 Doosan machines on its stand. Many of these — including the Doosan DVF 5000 five-axis machining centre, the Doosan NHP 4000 horizontal machining centre and the Doosan V8300M vertical turning centre — were new models making their UK debuts.

Tony Dale, Mills CNC’s technical director, said: “We were delighted with visitor and customer reaction to the stand, and the 20 machine orders were the ‘icing on the cake’.

“However, what was also impressive was the diversity, scope and scale of the orders taken.

We took five orders for Doosan vertical turning lathes, including two for our new V8300 machines; we also secured orders for a large-capacity Doosan Mynx 9500 vertical machining centre and a VC 3600 twin-table vertical machining centre. The remaining orders were for Lynx and Puma lathes and DNM machining centres.”

One of the MACH customers was RT Quaife Engineering Ltd, which confirmed its order for two new Doosan NHP 6300 horizontal machining centres and a Doosan LPS (Linear Pallet System) with 30 pallets.

This equipment will be delivered to RT Quaife’s new manufacturing facility in Gillingham later in the year; it will be the first high-productivity LPS system of its kind to be installed by Mills CNC in the UK.
