Denmark-based Trelleborg Marine Systems (
www.trelleborg.com), which produces items ranging from fenders and buoys to navigation and docking aids, has submitted plans to build a 19,762ft
2 factory on the site of the former Hawarden Airfield — now known as Hawarden Business Park — in Flintshire.
The site is currently owned by the Welsh government, which has spent £3.5 million on infrastructure works to encourage advanced-technology companies to relocate to the site.
If the plans are approved, the new factory could employ 53 people.
