Available in the UK from Cheltenham-based Cotswold Machinery Sales Ltd (
www.cotswold-machinery-sales.co.uk) is the new Spanish-made Roscomat Dragon electric tapping arm.
This is identical to the popular Tiger model, but it has the advantage of a larger working area (2,255mm radius x 1,139mm height) due to having longer arms.
It can tap from M2 to M27, has a heavy-duty cast aluminium structure and consists of a radial arm supporting both articulated arms, which can be positioned and adjusted by means of hand-wheels.
Its new multi-position head allows tapping at any angle, while maintaining perpendicularity. It has a high-frequency single-phase electric motor (220V or 110V) and a forward or reverse speed control.
The options include automatic tap lubrication, a ‘perpendicularity’ tapping system and a vertical tapping head.
The machine can be secured to a workbench via three M8 screws or a single clamp.
