Suffolk-based Nexen Lift Trucks — a designer and manufacturer of fork-lift trucks and warehouse equipment for the materials-handling sector — is spending £8.5 million on its manufacturing facility in Lowestoft, which currently employs 50 people.

A 48,000ft² extension to its existing 55,000ft² factory will enable the company to double the output of all models (via new production and assembly lines), create 40 new jobs and upgrade its ‘state of the art’ R&D facility.

Sales director Pamela Oakes (www.nexenlifttrucks.com) said: “It is vital that we continue to invest in our UK facility to help us maintain current demand, while increasing production to focus on growth for Nexen products, including the all-new multi-directional Ergo sideloader.”
