Chester Machine Tools (
www.chestermachinetools.com) recently installed a number of its machines — worth in excess of $500,000 — in the Middle East for a company that specialises in the oil industry.
The machines, for which Chester’s engineering team undertook the build, commissioning and training, included: a 3.2m double-column vertical boring machine with 30-tonne table load capacity; a large hydraulic shearing machine; a 1m-stroke slotting machine; three 80mm-capacity radial drills; a large-swing lathe with 6m between centres; and three
smaller workshop lathes.
Sales and operations director Anthony Edwards said: “We specialise in the supply of machine tools to the international energy sector, providing a product range and network of customer support that meets our clients’ specific mechanical manufacturing requirements.
“The construction of the bespoke Chester 3.2m double-column vertical boring machine and large scale installation of metal-working machines is a testament to the capabilities of Chester’s engineers and the products our company can supply.”
He added: “We currently export to over 70 countries world-wide and our machine tool range is extensive. As a British company endeavouring to support UK and global economies we are very proud to add this installation to our ever-increasing international blue-chip portfolio.”
