Hull-based Advanced Plastics (
www.advanced-plastics.com), a manufacturer of injection-moulded components, is to expand its 4,327m
2 factory and create 50 new jobs, as it aims to increase its annual sales to £25 million.
Plans for another 1,160m2 of warehouse space have been approved by Hull Council, which will allow the company to expand its manufacturing operations in the main building.
Advanced Plastics Ltd began life in a small industrial unit at Sutton Fields Industrial Estate more than 20 years ago.
Two decades on, the firm employs about 200 people.
The company has expanded across Sutton Fields and become a flagship firm on the estate, after acquiring and renovating the former Greif/Van Leer factory.
Alongside the automotive and heating industries, Advanced Plastics also supplies its products to sectors including construction, education, medical and defence.
The company said that the new warehouse will create “the much-needed space to store finished products and to allow further expansion.”
