Orsted to build wind farm in NebraskaOrsted’s US onshore company Lincoln Clean Energy (LCE), a leading developer of US renewables, recently issued the ‘Final Notice to Proceed’ on its Plum Creek wind facility in Wayne County, Nebraska.

The 230MW wind farm is expected to be operational in 2020 and will generate enough energy to power up to 100,000 homes. LCE now has 670MW of wind facilities under construction in three states — Texas,
Nebraska and South Dakota.

Declan Flanagan, CEO of LCE, said: “We are happy to announce that the Plum Creek facility has reached an important milestone that keeps us on target to achieve commercial operation by 2020. Plum Creek is an excellent addition to the growing LCE portfolio, and it expands our geographic footprint in the attractive Southwest Power Pool (SPP) market, which serves the central United States.”

Orsted (www.orsted.com), which says its vision is a world that runs entirely on green energy, develops, constructs and operates offshore and onshore wind farms, plus bio-energy plants, and provides energy products to its
customers. Based in Denmark, it employs 6,300 people, and it achieved revenues of around 10.3 billion euros in 2018.
