£20 million export win for Briggs Automotive Co

£20 million export win for Briggs Automotive CoLiverpool-based super-car manufacturer Briggs Automotive Co (BAC - www.bac-mono.com) has secured new export contracts in the USA and Hong Kong valued at £20 million, following support from the Department for International Trade (DIT).

The company makes the world’s only road-legal single-seat super-car (the BAC Mono), and it launched a higher-powered
but lighter model — the BAC Mono R — last year.

Founded in 2009 by brothers Neill and Ian Briggs, the company now employs 30 people and has dealers in the USA, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, Sweden and Mexico.

In January 2017, DIT awarded BAC ‘Export Champion’ status. After targetting potential dealers across the USA, it has signed two new dealership agreements — with Manhattan Motorcars in New York and Tactical Fleet in Dallas.

Meanwhile, its successful BAC Hong Kong contract has been renewed, with further Monos exported to the region and a number of Mono R super-cars set to follow.

Neill Briggs said: “These new export wins are a sign of how far we have come as a business in recent years. Our solid export strategy, fantastic team ethic and exemplary product — along with the support from the DIT — mean that we have the ultimate recipe for success overseas.”
