RDM Meditec, a division of Coventry-based RDM Group, the company behind driverless pods and an autonomous luggage dolly for the aviation sector, has pivoted operations to support the UK’s search for additional PPE. The company has sourced a significant stockholding of face protection, sanitisation wipes and disposable nitrile gloves and is now supplying to medical organisations on the frontline, car showrooms, retail outlets and other businesses looking to return to work.

It has also developed its own hand gel sanitiser that is produced in the UK and available in 100ml bottles. The product is CE marked, manufactured to BS EN 1500 safety standards, conforms to all COSHH and REACH standards and kills 99% of all bacteria.

For customers who would like their own branding on the bottles, this option is available for orders over 10,000 units.

Miles Garner, RDM Group sales and marketing director, said: “Our medical division has a strong international network of contacts and we wanted to tap into these to help get enough PPE into the country for the NHS and medical staff to start with and then for companies considering how to get back to work.

“We now have an extensive stock of masks, gloves and sanitisation products and, to support the restarting of the economy, we have designed Workplace Safety sticker sets to help companies communicate new social distancing measures and processes to its employees.”

Earlier this year, RDM Group responded to the Government’s call to develop a Rapidly Manufactured Ventilator System (RMVS), which weighs less than 7kg and will operate 24/7 for 14 days without the need for external power supply or batteries.

It has been designed so that it regulates control of oxygen mix and can be connected to a medical standard 22mm breathing circuit, endotracheal tube, face mask or helmet. Importantly for ease of utilisation, it will require minimum clinical/carer training.
