Kyocera SGS to showcase special tools at MACH 2024Kyocera SGS Precision Tools Europe Ltd, a global leader in precision cutting tools, will be highlighting its extensive range of high-performance solid-carbide cutting tools and industry-leading special tools at MACH 2024, taking place 15-19 April at the Birmingham NEC (Hall 17, Stand 335).

Taking centre stage will be the ground-breaking Fir Tree milling range for aerospace and power generation engine discs, patented Barrel Tool technology, and unique Bulb Tools designed to significantly reduce process cycle time. These developments exemplify the cutting tool manufacturers commitment to pushing the boundaries of precision engineering in the medical, aerospace and power generation industries.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore Kyocera SGS’s high-performance tool range, each equipped with specific design features to optimise machining processes. The company’s tools boast variable pitch, an odd numbers of teeth, variable helices, and a patented variable rake and edge preparation. These features are meticulously designed to reduce harmonics by changing the chip shape, thereby minimising resonance, vibration, and chatter - the primary causes of tool failure and chipping.

Visitors to MACH 2024 are encouraged to visit the Kyocera SGS stand to access its new bespoke ‘app’ that supports customers in making informed tooling choices. This innovative tool provides valuable insights and recommendations tailored to individual sectors and their machining needs. Kyocera SGS is dedicated to empowering its customers with the latest advancements in technology for enhanced precision and efficiency. By tailoring the tooling choice app to each sector enables customers to easily find the best possible tools to meet their needs.

The company will also be showcasing its collaborative efforts with Open Mind Technologies’ hypermill. The centrepiece is soon to be unveiled, along with a video to demonstrate the amazing development journey in bringing the concept to reality. Kyocera SGS sales director David Colton said: “We are so pleased to partner once again with Open Mind Technologies to represent our commitment to staying at the forefront of programming advancements and showcase cutting-edge tool solutions to visitors.”

The company’s team of sales engineers will be present on the Kyocera SGS stand and will be able to address any questions or challenges relating to machining and milling the most challenging materials.
