Hi Logistics (a subsidiary of South Korea’s LG Electronics) has officially opened its first UK facility — at Prologis Park, Ryton, near Coventry.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by LG’s European president Brian Na, its global president Chang Uk Choi, local MP Jeremy Wright and Ian Davis, executive director of Rugby Borough Council. The 165,200 sq. ft. warehouse was designed and constructed by Prologis to meet Hi Logistics’ requirements.
Mr Na said: “We selected Ryton as the best place for our new UK distribution network about 10 months ago. We have worked closely with Prologis, and the team has worked hard to meet our time-table. This new facility meets all our requirements, and we are very pleased that we can start our operations on schedule.”
Mr Wright said: “This site has a proud history of providing employment for local people. It is in an ideal location for a distribution park, and I am sure that it will once again become an engine of growth for Coventry and Warwickshire.”
