The Deloitte University Leadership Centre in Westlake, Texas, is to launch an MOOC (a massive open on-line course) on the implications of additive manufacturing for US firms. It will be called 3-D opportunity: The course on additive manufacturing for business leaders.
Jonathan Copulsky, director of Deloitte’s Brand & Eminence group, said: “We are committed to providing innovative educational opportunities to our clients through programmes such as D-briefs, Web-casts and live events.
"The MOOC offers people the ability to interact with the instructor and other participants world-wide, while viewing high-quality content from the convenience of their own offices. We believe that courses like this can help to spark a dialogue around important trends in the market-place.”
Mike Hripko, deputy director of workforce and educational out-reach at America Makes (the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute), said: “During this course, participants will learn how 3-D printing could impact their business, which sectors are leading in the use of the technology, and what factors they should consider when building a business case for additive manufacturing.”
