At the opening of its new Product Proving Centre in High Wycombe, industrial distribution group Carillon wanted to highlight some of the best products in its portfolio, including the Rhenus Lub range of coolants.

To this end, it turned to Environmental Technologies Ltd (www.env-t.com) to ensure that the coolant was demonstrated and maintained to its optimum performance on the two Doosan CNC machine tools at the centre.

This involved the installation of a Cardev SmartMix 300 coolant mixing station and individual Cardev CMS-ATU auto top-up units (the coolant quality is also maintained by tramp oil removal, using a Cardev T700 mobile separator).

Customers can see how the correct mixing of coolants translates into enhanced productivity, component quality, improved tool life and reduced manufacturing costs.”

“The SmartMix unit draws off neat concentrate direct from the drum and then mixes it with water. The mixed coolant is then delivered to the machines at rates up to 75 litres per min.

“At Carillon, the top-up of the coolant sumps is automatically controlled by the CMS-ATU auto top-up units; this saves valuable down-time and ensures that the machines have the correct levels and concentrations of coolant at all times.
