Belfast-based Sheridan & Hood Ltd, which has saved 20 businesses over £450,000 through the installation of ‘state of the art’ heating systems, has become the first company in Northern Ireland to receive Carbon Trust accreditation in recognition of its skills and services for the provision of renewable-technology solutions.

Managing director Brian Hood said: “Over the past 40 years, we have worked hard to lead the field in delivering innovative solutions for our customers. With businesses facing increasing overheads as the price of fossil fuels continues to rise, we took the pro-active step of designing and manufacturing our own range of bio-mass heating modules in association with our sister company, BS Holdings.

“These systems are now helping businesses and individuals to save on their overheads and also to reduce their ‘carbon footprint’. The accreditation from the Carbon Trust gives our customers further reassurance that we are providing them with sustainable energy-efficient systems that cut their bills and help contribute to a more sustainable
society.”
