SSC Laser opens Yate facilitySSC Laser (www.steelservicecentre.co.uk) has opened a factory in Yate, near Bristol.

The company, which specialises in both flat and tube laser cutting, has invested £1 million in the 18,000 sq ft facility on Stover Trading Estate.

Ben Cliss, sales manager for the South West, said: “We’re really excited about the investment that the company has made in the region, considering that it has only been established in this area since 2012. The past two years have seen massive growth, and we are very grateful to our customers for their support in helping us to grow our business so quickly."

Sales director Andy Evans said: “The Bristol team have done a fantastic job in getting SSC Laser established in the South West so quickly. It’s only fair to set them up in their own factory with the very latest laser cutting technology.”

A brand-new Bystronic ByAutonom 6kW flat-bed laser was delivered to the factory on 1 December, along with an Amada press brake.

Mr Cliss added: “We offer both flat and flat-and-fold laser-engineered components made from mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium materials. Our big strengths are in reacting very quickly to customer enquiries and delivering the finished goods on very short lead times. Our products are produced to the very highest standards available in our industry.”

SSC Laser, which has its head office in Staffordshire, was established in 2000 and now has six sites in the UK. The company employs 60 people and is planning further expansion in 2015.
