Hyundai Motor Co has supplied a fleet of 94 electric vehicles to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 — currently underway in Australia and New Zealand — in its capacity as the official automotive partner of the competition.

The fleet was provided by Hyundai’s New Zealand division, and the vehicles include ix35 compact SUVs, iMax vans and i40 large family cars. According to the South Korean group, they will be used by ICC officials, executives and referees.

Back in 2011, Hyundai signed a five-year agreement with the ICC to become its first official car sponsor. This covers a number of events, including the ICC Champions Trophy, the ICC World Twenty20 and the ICC Cricket World Cup.

Hyundai New Zealand general manager Andy Sinclair said: “Cricket is New Zealand’s summer sport. As the official car partner, we are proud to contribute to a momentous event that brings so many people together from around the world.”
