Tata Technologies has received planning permission to open new European headquarters in Warwick.
The purpose-built HQ represents a £16 million investment and will create 200 new jobs for design engineers and programme managers. Tata Technologies is a subsidiary of Tata Motors, which owns Coventry-based Jaguar Land Rover.
The building — expected to accommodate around 600 people in total — will house the company’s engineering support services as well as a modern R&D centre, which should create opportunities for growth in the automotive, aerospace and industrial-machinery sectors.
Chris White, MP for Warwick and Leamington, said: “I welcome Tata Technologies’ announcement and its commitment to creating skilled jobs in our community. This is great news for local people, and it is another endorsement of the importance of the region as a manufacturing and engineering hub.”
Andrew Mobbs, leader of Warwick District Council, said: “It is wonderful news that Tata Technologies has confirmed that its new European headquarters will be based in Warwick. As a council, we are delighted that our efforts in helping the company to re-locate to the district have paid off.”
