Cooper and Ricardo to develop new engines

Cooper and Ricardo to develop new enginesCooper Corporation Pvt Ltd — one of India’s leading engine manufacturers — and the UK company Ricardo are to jointly develop a new line of Cooper products ranging from 3.5kVA to 1,000kVA, with the entire engine range available
in both diesel and CNG versions.

The long-standing association between the two companies has resulted in Cooper products being significantly ahead of their competition in terms of technology, the total cost of ownership and durability.

Working with Ricardo, Cooper has made 52 engine variants in six years, including diesel and gas versions.

The new Cooper engines will power applications for diverse sectors including automotive, power generation, marine, defence, construction and agriculture.

Speaking about the association, Farrokh Cooper, chairman and managing director of Cooper Corporation, said: “This is a very proud moment for us and a big achievement for a company that has graduated from making cast-iron engine components to contemporary engines.

“With this association with Ricardo UK, we will be covering almost 75% of the range of products available in the market, putting us in the same league as the biggest players in the industry in a relatively short period of time.”
