Coventry-based Penso — a multi-industry specialist engineering company with expertise in automotive, renewable energy, defence and nuclear — visited the National Engineering and Construction Recruitment Exhibition in Birmingham at the end of last month in a bid to attract new talent.

The company, which has increased its sales by £4 million in the past year, is looking for 10 additional staff, including a number of graduates.

Sales and marketing director Michael Collins (pictured) said: “Any event that puts industry in the spotlight and gives us access to people interested in a career in our sector has to be welcomed.

“Traditional ways of finding staff aren’t working, so we have to be creative in how we identify and secure the type of people who will make a positive difference to our business.”

Penso currently employs 230 people and says it has the potential to hire a further 100 over the next year.
