Chinese-speaking graduate 'pilot scheme'

Chinese-speaking graduate 'pilot scheme' The Government has chosen the University of Sheffield to lead a ‘pilot’ project to connect UK companies with more than 70,000 Chinese-speaking graduates from UK universities through the Great Ambassador internship scheme.

This is intended to create lasting links and benefits to businesses looking to access or expand in China. This approach will also
consolidate existing ‘alumni networks’ in China; it will connect them with UK companies and organisations that operate in China.

Vice-Chancellor professor Sir Keith Burnett said: “The University of Sheffield has a long history of welcoming outstanding Chinese-speaking students. We have already seen very real benefits to local business from work placements and the application of cutting-edge research to real industrial problems. The scheme will offer great support to UK companies seeking to develop and expand trade links with China.”
