Designed to undertake a wide variety of applications and with a footprint of just 1,950 x 1,800mm, the EDM 312 MF30 from CNC International, Ross-on-Wye (
www.cncinternational.co.uk), has a work envelope of 450 x 300 x 300mm and an 820 x 400mm table that accommodates loads up to 800kg.
Furthermore, allowing the 900 x 520mm work tank to move while filled with electrolyte simplifies mid-cycle modifications and reduces non-cutting times.
Further contributing to the machine’s productivity is fully simultaneous path control for its six axes. The PC-based control features a Windows-based interface that provides the look and feel of a tablet PC with touch-screen operation.
Programming can be conducted in both NC mode and through an intuitive menu-guided set of options.
The EDM 312 MF30 features Exeron’s Exopuls+ high-power generator technology with Digisparc optimised erosion process and up to 120A available.
Furthermore, Exopuls+ ‘shapes’ the current for the erosion pulses to optimise the accuracy of the machining process. The machine can be specified with a chuck that is integrated in the table, or a rotary/pivoting table for the machining of particularly complex components.
Further options include: C-axis bridging to support large, heavy electrodes; a fire-extinguishing system; and a dielectric cooling system.
