Powys wind farm acquiredThe Renewables Infrastructure Group (TRIG)(www.trig-ltd.com), a London-listed investment group advised by InfraRed Capital Partners, has acquired a wind farm in Powys that can generate 34MW of power.

Garreg Lwyd Hill Wind Farm is located between Felindre and Llanbadarn Fynydd in Radnorshire.

TRIG says that Garreg Lwyd Hill, which has been acquired from the RES group, is in a high wind-speed location that includes 17 Vestas V100 turbines, each with a rated capacity of 2MW.

The wind farm qualifies for the ROC (Renewable Obligation Certificate) support scheme and has a long-term agreement in place with Vestas; this includes production performance incentives and a power purchase agreement with Shell Energy.

InfraRed Capital Partners infrastructure director Richard Crawford said: “InfraRed is delighted to have secured this significant additional project for TRIG. Garreg Lwyd Hill is the first investment by TRIG in Wales, and is one of the last projects to be constructed under the UK’s successful ROC regime for onshore wind.”
