Enhanced 'Force' optimisation in Vericut 8.0.2

Enhanced 'Force' optimisation in Vericut 8.0.2 Hove-based CGTech Ltd (www.cgtech.com) has released version 8.0.2 of its Vericut CNC machine simulation, verification and optimisation software. This version includes a number of enhancements to the software’s ‘Force’ optimisation module.

The Force ‘physics-based’ tool-path optimisation module now receives input values directly from cloud-based tooling data; it also benefits from many new features that streamline set-up.

For instance, by micro-analysing the cutting conditions, Force ensures that NC programs have optimal feed rates and chip thicknesses that do not exceed safe force or power limits.

Managing director Tony Shrewsbury says: “With a specific focus on improving connectivity and closing the design-to-manufacturing loop, Version 8.0.2 makes even more use of tooling and cutting performance information available in CAM systems and the cloud.

“This direct input streamlines set up for more robust simulation, and allows users to ‘see’ and compare different cutting strategies to ultimately choose optimal methods for their manufacturing environments.”

Other new features include an improved charts display, which enables NC programmers and engineers to virtually ‘see’ and evaluate force, chip thickness and material removal rates in NC programs before running them on their machine.

Vericut 8.0.2 contains several other helpful enhancements to machine simulation graphic rendering and tool management, as well as drill and fastener simulation.
