XYZ spreads the 3-D printing messageFollowing the success of its 3-D printing seminar (undertaken in collaboration with HP and other specialists in the 3-D printing sector) at its Burlescombe-based headquarters, XYZ Machine Tools has announced a second seminar at its Nuneaton Technical Centre on 5 July.

Managing director Nigel Atherton said: “The first seminars in Devon were very well received; transferring them to our Nuneaton Technical Centre will enable more people to attend and gain an insight into the benefits of 3-D printing, which has moved from R&D and prototyping into a full production process where the production of tens of thousands of parts becomes a reality.

“Parts can be combined and printed as working assemblies straight from the printer, helping to reduce cost and waste. In terms of production volumes, the HP Multi Jet Fusion can economically produce batches from one-off up to 110,000; and when compared with injection moulding, HP’s aim is to raise that upper threshold to one million parts in the near future.”

The seminar is scheduled to run for about 2hr and includes presentations from experts in the field of 3-D printing, including HP and Siemens. Space is limited, so anyone wishing to attend should register their interest by completing the form on the Web site home page (www.xyzmachinetools.com).
