Malton Laser teams up with Force of Nature builderYorkshire-based Malton Laser (www.maltonlaser.com), a sheet metal-working specialist, has provided a series of stainless steel parts for Force of Nature — the steam-powered rocket motorcycle built entirely in the UK by motor-sport and drag racing enthusiast Graham Sykes in a bid to break the world steam-powered vehicle record and also the ‘world thrust’ motorbike record.

As a fellow motor racing enthusiast, Malton Laser’s managing director, Charles Corner, was keen to be involved with the project, so he agreed to manufacture stainless-steel components for the bike’s charging dock on the company’s Bystronic Bystar 3015 6kW fibre laser.

The dock, where Force of Nature will spend most of its time, features an automatic system to raise the bike off the ground.

Mr Corner said: “As a bit of an adrenaline junkie myself, it’s great to be involved in such a ground-breaking project. Force of Nature is an incredible piece of machinery, with the potential to make huge waves in the world of motor-sport.

“The charging dock is integral to the efficient running of the bike, so to be able to use our laser cutting, welding and fabrication services to manufacture components for it is something we’re really excited about.”
