Vaski Group Oy from Seinäjoki, Finland, has acquired Pivatic Oy. Based in Hyvinkää, Finland, its sales partner in the UK is Mate Tooling Solutions Ltd, Northampton. The companies say this development is ‘a merger of equals’ and that both businesses achieved a record recent order backlog of 11 million euros. After the purchase, their combined sales exceed 25 million euros with 100 staff.

Vaski says the purchase significantly enhances its coil fed systems business, as Pivatic’s focus is on coil-fed punching and bending lines for sheet metal processing. Pivatic, in turn, benefits from Vaski’s focus on coil-feeding technologies.

Vaski’s managing director Michael Mansour said: “Off the back of significant growth in the Vaski business, I am excited by this combination, creating a new leader in coil fed systems by leveraging both companies’ multicoil expertise and bringing Pivatic’s 50 years of tradition into Vaski.”

Pivatic’s CEO Jan Tapanainen added: “I am thrilled to be part of this merger, which creates significant cross selling synergies and a clear vision for both businesses in the future. Vaski and Pivatic come together to create a coil fed systems champion and world market leader in our sector.”

Mr Mansour added that in 2023, over 18% of Vaski’s revenue was spent on research and development, demonstrating the company’s commitment to technology advancement in industrial machinery. “With a shared commitment to innovation and quality, Vaski Group is ready to leverage its expertise in developing Pivatic, particularly in strengthening research and development activities. Both Vaski and Pivatic have solidified their position as international enterprises, with over 90% of products exported.”

Established in 2015 as Rodstein, Vaski underwent a name change in 2020 commencing a rapid growth phase. Pivatic is set to celebrate its 50th anniversary next year. Later this month (28-29 May) Pivatic will be hosting a Technology Days event in Hyvinkää, Finland, at which the focus will be on large precision sheet metal parts (over 4m and up to 16m), punching from coil and blanks, MPB bending (PivaBend Multitool Profile/Panel Bender) with C-frame and T-frame concepts and integrated Samesor roll forming, and Ursviken tandem press brakes. There will also be the possibility of visiting Pivatic’s new owner, Vaski Group Oy, on 30 May in Seinäjoki, Finland, as well as reference visits.
