Grinding out the orders

Grinding out the orders MACH 2014 proved to be a resounding success for Vollmer UK Ltd, Nottingham (www.vollmer-group.com), with orders for two CP200 machines on the first day of the show; these undertake the automated processing of circular saw blades. The event also saw the UK’s first showing of the QXD250 erosion centre for producing PCD cutting tools; Vollmer also introduced the new Loroch PowerStar 850 machine for the sharpening, re-toothing and chamfering of metal-cutting circular saw blades.

The new QXD250 can produce PCD-tipped tools up to 30% faster than has been possible up to now, thanks to its new Vpulse EDM generator technology, which can also improve the surface finish. Meanwhile, the CP200 features four CNC axes that allow optimal movement co-ordination and top precision for grinding carbide-tipped
circular saw blades.

Vollmer UK’s managing director, Peter Allen said: “Once again, the MACH exhibition was a huge success for the company. The level of enquiries generated shows that the UK manufacturing industry is now in a positive trend, with enquiries far exceeding MACH 2012. Furthermore, credit for the significant number of stand visitors has to be paid to the new innovations on show and the R&D team, which works so tirelessly to develop new products that are so relevant to our customer base.”
