Made in the Midlands — an industry body that promotes manufacturing and engineering — has promoted Charles Addison to the position of chief operating officer.
This is a new role, created to reflect the growth of the organisation over the past 12 months.
CEO Jason Pitt said: “Charles has been with us from the beginning in 2009. He has been instrumental in our growth, and he will be the driving force as we progress further. He has a great understanding of the industry and is well respected across our membership; I’m delighted that he has accepted the role.”
The appointment comes as Made in the Midlands launches a series of breakfast-club networking sessions. It has also recruited new staff, opened satellite offices in Birmingham and the East Midlands and is planning a members-only lobbying visit to Westminster.
Mr Addison said: “These are exciting times for manufacturing. Industry in the Midlands is driving the growth of the economy nationally, and we are here to ensure that it is successful, sustainable and recognised.”
