Laser marking specialist Electrox, Letchworth (
www.electrox.com) has launched its latest generation graphical design and laser programming software.
Named ScribaEvo, it has been designed to be particularly intuitive and user-friendly. The PC-based software covers a wide range of marking requirememnts, from individual components through to automated large-batch production. Moreover, it is backwards-compatible with all G2 Electrox lasers, meaning that existing as well as new customers can benefit from ScribaEvo.
Sales director Peter Ramsden says: “In recent years, our software upgrades have added new functionality to the existing foundation, which can complicate things — especially for novice users. With ScribaEvo, we have built a brand new software platform, while retaining all of the advances and improvements gained from our years of experience. Moreover, the simplified structure makes it easier and faster to use.”
A key feature is the laser parameter library — a pre-saved index of popular laser configurations. “Changes to a laser’s power, frequency or speed have a tremendous impact on the results and there is always an optimum setting depending on the substrate, colour or application. By offering a library, users can select the most appropriate option for their requirements.”
The software, which was developed on the Microsoft .NET platform for intuitive navigation, is compatible with Windows 7 or 8; and with automated graphics tools, it can identify the gaps in images and utilise the best fill algorithms to optimise marking speed.
Similarly, a serialisation feature uses the stored memory to provide incremental and decremental numbering.
