Heidenhain (GB) Ltd, Burgess Hill (www.heidenhain.co.uk), has extended its range of exposed linear encoders with the launch of the low-cost LIC 2100.

Designed for a wide range of applications — including machine tools and metrology equipment — these absolute encoders offer a resolution of 0.1/0.05µm and an accuracy of ±15µm over a length of 3,020mm as standard (6,020mm as an option).

Moreover, they have a mounting tolerance of 0.75mm ±0.5mm for the scanning gap, ±1deg for roll/pitch and ±1mm for the Y axis.
