Magellan Aerospace to open machining operation

Magellan Aerospace (www.magellan.aero) it is to open a new precision-machining facility in Mielec, Poland; this is in addition to its existing surface treatment facility in that country and is expected to be fully operational in the second half of the year.

The new facility will initially specialise in the production of small to medium-size components for the aerospace market; it will then be expanded to incorporate precision assembly and aero-engine machining.

Phil Underwood, president and CEO of Magellan Aerospace, said: “This expansion of our capability in Poland, in conjunction with our expanding footprint in India, will strengthen our competitive advantage; it also demonstrates our commitment to supporting our customers’ emerging-market sourcing requirements.”
