The Swedish automotive supplier Gnotec Kinnared AB has installed a monoblock servo press from the German manufacturer Schuler AG (
www.schulergroup.com).
The MSD-400 machine — the first servo press that Schuler has delivered to Scandinavia — was supplied with a coil line and roll feed to provide a complete forming system.
The servo press has a force of 400 tonnes and replaces a mechanical eccentric press used by the Swedish company, whose Magnus Stagh says: “The new machine will significantly boost our productivity. Compared to the previous model, the output performance has doubled.
Furthermore, the new servo press allows us to produce parts of a higher quality than before.” The MSD-400 will enhance Gnotec Kinnared’s forming flexibility and efficiency, as it allows the company to individually program both the stroke height and the forming speed.
The machine also offers a significant reduction in energy consumption — and a significant increase in die life.
