Oldham-based Constant Group, which provides precision sheet metal fabrication and other services, has launched a new Web site that gives information on its six divisions (

The company was set up in 1970 as Constant Aluminium Supplies Ltd to provide sheet metal services to businesses in the North West.
Chairman Richard Garlick says: “Forty five years ago, I couldn’t have envisaged being part of a company providing a range of metal-work solutions to companies around the world, from leading fitness brands like Fitbit to local motorbike manufacturers such as CCM Motorcycles.
“Today, we employ over 70 people from the Manchester area — again something I’d never have thought possible when I started up with my father in the 1970s.”
Richard’s children — Matt and Emma — now handle the business development of the group as joint managing directors. Matt says: “We’re proud to have flourished this year, with the installation of a new ‘state of the art’ Trumpf CNC punching machine expanding our capacity.
“We have also added a 7.5-tonne Fuso wagon to our fleet, giving us a collective load ability of 13 tonnes. Due to our growth, we’ve been able to hire additional welders and appoint a fourth CAD design engineer to meet growing demand, as well as a digital marketing manager.”
The group has ambitious plans to get young engineers interested in a career in manufacturing. It intends to introduce various creative projects at both primary- and secondary-school level for local children in Oldham and the surrounding area.
